5 Things for Tuesday

**Just realized that this post never went live today - oops!

It's Tuesday and honestly, I have nothing but a few odds and ends to share right now.  Here they are:

1. Don't forget to enter to win a MyMemories software suite (worth $40) by leaving a comment on this post.  The contest ends on Friday, and so far you have ridiculously high odds of winning.

2. Don't forget that my blogger must-haves series kicks off this week, and if you want to participate you'll need to send me a photo and a link to your pick for some must-have earrings by 7pm Central on Thursday.  You can get more details here.

3. I just booked a 4 day weekend in San Francisco with my husband, and I would LOVE recommendations on where to eat/stay/shop!  I've only ever stayed with friends, and I was too poor to eat well, so this trip should be an adventure!

4. I want the courage to do a room like this one day - maximalism + DwellStudio!

5. I spent over an hour on the phone with my grandma on Sunday, and really treasure our chats.  I learn so much about my family - and myself!  At one point she said "You know, I just love clothes.  I always have, and I love how good fabric makes you look nice."  I think that's where I got it from.  If you still have a grandma, consider giving her a call today.

Trend To Try: Monochrome

Happy Monday!  Hopefully everyone had a nice weekend - I sure enjoyed mine.  The Gilt sale was worth $5 admission, but didn't quite live up to the lofty description in the emails.  However, I did score some Kendra Scott and Kenneth Jay Lane earrings for $10 each (!!!), a leather makeup bag, and a cool brown zebra print tote that zips into a leather pouch all for $50.  There were some great deals to be had in the shoe section, but the selection of size 9s was pretty small compared to the other sizes.  I saw Pour La Victoire boots for $80, and Cole Haan pumps for $69... all for women who could fit into an 8.  Sad day.

However, I did see some lovely Dallas fashionistas and was inspired by a few outfits I observed in line.  I've not tried the whole monochrome outfit trend yet, but I'm thinking I should give it a go.  What do you think?

P.S. Don't forget to enter to win a MyMemories software suite!  I'll pick a winner Friday afternoon!

Giveaway: MyMemories Software Suite!

Today I'm excited to offer a giveaway courtesy of MyMemories - a suite of software used to create scrapbooks and basic graphics.  I intentionally don't host a lot of giveaways here, but I think this product is a great, affordable option for people who want the ability to create graphics without investing in expensive software like the Adobe suite right away.  Plus, it's actually easy to use!

If you're not sure that you're serious about blogging or creating your own graphics, I think that the MyMemories suite would be an ideal first step and help get your feet wet.  I was able to create the image below in about 8 minutes using MyMemories for the first time (the outfit collage is all one image):

I am giving an honest review when I saw that a lot of the pre-made templates and treatments are not my cup of tea, but the software will pull whatever fonts you have installed on your computer and offers the same color gradients as more advanced programs.  You can easily import photos and frame them, and add text or other shapes without any design experience at all.  I plan to try my hand at a modern wedding album using the 12x12" page templates since I've yet to get around to making one and my wedding was in 2010!

If you'd like to win a free download of the MyMemories software suite , all you need to do is visit their website and leave a comment on this post telling me what design idea or add-on is your favorite (if I had kids I'd be all about the LeeLou Designs add-ons for my scrapbooks).

You don't have to create any sort of account to leave a comment on this post, but I'd love it if you became a follower of this blog or MyMemories in some way.  They're on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

Entries must be received by noon Central time on Friday, January 3rd.  I'll post a winner on Friday evening - good luck!

New Blog Series + What I Wore

Happy Friday!  This week has dragged on forever here at my desk, so I cannot wait for this weekend to begin.  I'm pumped to visit the Gilt warehouse sale tomorrow morning with my friend Megan - hopefully my eBay money can offset the cost of one nice, new item worthy of space in my closet!

I'm excited to be starting a new blog series that I'd like to get contributions for each week.  I love offering exposure to other bloggers, and meeting new e-friends along the way, but I wanted to create an opportunity that isn't a big time commitment.  Rather than solicit entire guest posts, I've decided that each week I'll compile a collection of items that other bloggers consider a must-have for that week's theme.  The name of the series will be Blogger Must-Haves (creative, eh?) and the weekly themes will be things like Bracelets, Lip Color, Clutches, Artwork, Lighting, Cocktails, etc.

All I will need to make you part of the series is an image of your must-have item that's no more than 530 pixels wide (it can also be Polyvore or Pinterest code) and a link (this would be a great opportunity to supply affiliate links like rewardStyle) - that's it.  I'll do the rest and you'll have about 1,000 people viewing your pick for that week.  Fun, huh?  All you have to do is email me at cardiganjunkie@gmail.com by 7pm Central on Thursdays and I'll include you in the post.

This week's topic is.... EARRINGS!

And now for your usual Friday recap of my outfits, for those who care about such things:

I think Wednesday is my favorite, and will be repeated.  :)  I got lazy on Monday, and Tuesday looked cuter in real life but I couldn't find a shirt like mine with rolled sleeves.  Here's to mixing it up more next week!  Have a happy weekend, ladies!

Bravo Boden

Do you ever forget that some brands exist, even though you actually like them?  That describes me and Boden.  Until yesterday, I forgot they even existed for about 9 months and now I can't believe that I haven't been paying attention.

Look at this stuff - it's great!  But expensive...

I am in love with that leather jacket... except that it's over $500 and I could buy lots of great things for that price.

What's your favorite piece?
